I’ve recently signed up for a company that goes by the name of Florida Property Scouts and cannot find information of the company online, therefore I’m not quite sure if it is a scam or not. If anyone has worked with this company before and could provide more information I would really appreciate it as it sounds like a great opportunity.
Please post more information in the comments area below!
Thanks,
Nick Parks

Hi…I was wondering if you found out anything about this company. I came across them on craigslist…
I personally have not, I was actually hoping someone would post a comment with a review of some sort. I tried E-mailing the company, but never received a response.
I have reason to believe that it may be a scam as I have a family member that is a Real Estate Broker in the state of Florida and it is against the law to offer monetary bonuses to non-Realtors for referrals.
Do they ask for money?!!!! I just saw the add on Craig’s list and was doing research on them myself. I sent in money on another scam and will never do it again. I sent in money to be a foreclosure inspector. $86 for a background check. I am a Trainee Appraiser and they would not hire me after I paid the $86. They had no more positions available. I did inspections for a living. If it is not a scam, you would be doing quite a bit of legwork and talking to owners. If you do not have to send them money, then it may be worth looking into.
I agree, it does sound like a good opportunity. I mean you aren’t going to get rich quick.
The way the system is set up I can already upload pictures and information, but I feel like the company is looking for individuals from craigslist to gather customers for them and not actually compensate.
Hopefully someone stumbles across my site that has worked with this property scout company, then we can be at ease and not have to worry whether or not we will be compensated for the time put in.
I actually received a letter in the mail about being a secret shopper, they gave me a fake check for $850 and told me to cash it and Western Union the cash to a PO box, keep the extra $50 for my time and rate the Western Union kiosk that I used by faxing a form that they sent along with the check.
This was clearly a scam and I hope no one has actually fallen for it as $800 would definitely put a dent in some people’s budget.
Nick – I am one of the Managing Partners of Florida Property Scouts.com. I can assure you of a few things: a) We are DEFINITELY LEGIT. The principals of the firm have a combined 40+ years in the RE Investment business, and have bought or sold in excess of 400 homes for their own portfolios. They have also been involved in directing and managing well in excess of $450 MILLION in Joint Venture Residential & Commercial Projects.
Some of our Management Team have been instructing REI Training all over North America. We recently joined forces to acquire a MASSIVE portfolio, primarily in the Jacksonville area, but throughout Florida as well. We are also working with Joint Venture partners all over the US on High-End Residential deals.
We are NOT offering referral fees at the present time. We are offering our Property Scouts the opportunity to get involved in our Projects, and will be offering training to improve their ability to follow up on their leads.
Our Trainer/Property Scout Liason has been out of town for the last few days, but will be introducing the Training soon, hopefully next week. Stay Tuned.
I’m leaning more towards this being a scam over being legit, until further evidence that anyone has been actually compensated by this company.
What I can tell you is that this is Project House Hunter seems to be the “bird dog” end of http://www.iFliprealestate.com. Check out their site and see how this is presented on the “investor” end.
A quote from that site: Stop wasting your time and money searching for potential investment properties. Relax and wait for them to come to you. All you do is advertise your bird dog domain enticing college kids or anyone looking for easy money to submit vacant properties. Then as the leads fall in, you sort through, find your deals and get in contact with the buyers. It’s that easy….
NOTICE they don’t mention paying those bird dogs.
I have now worked with two different Project House Hunter “investors” which have turned out to be flaky real estate ladies. They take the submitted information and then reject the submissions so they don’t have to pay. One of them I believe might be certifiable, but then this IS Floriduh. That one goes by the address of http://www.4househunters.com. She’s pretending she’s a realtor in Tennessee but she’s actually here in Fort Lauderdale with her sister. Yes, I know how to do the research!
This “Florida Property Scout” thing is just the name this particular utilizer/”investor” of the system has chosen to use.
When you have a problem with your “investor” there is no administration of Project House Hunter that you can contact to seek redress of your issues. As in, you submitted all of the photos and background information and followed all guidelines laid out for scouts and then your “investor” either won’t pay or won’t even reply to your contacting them at all. They take all of the info submitted and use it for their own purposes.
Each utilizer/”investor” of the Project House Hunter system is separate, so they might not ALL be scum. But type in “Project House Hunter Scam” and start reading.
This particular “Florida House Scouts” sounds like they are even more audacious in their expectations (of how much work you must do before finding out they don’t pay) than the rest of these real estate assholes in Project House Hunter.
I have been paid for all the leads I have submitted, except for the last ten. This investor is very slow paying and always has some reason for it.
I am giving up on it as I put in time and gas money and have to wait to long for the money.
Katherine..
I’m in Fort Myers..I joined Project House Hunter last week and have so far submitted over 60 houses.
I am becoming suspicious as to the lack of responce and of the wait time on submitted properties “pending”.
This particular site is.. leecohousefinder.com Let me know Katherine of the site address you signed up with as I want to contact someone in-charge of this operation and whether they are all affiliated across the U.S. They all seem to have the exact same sign up page format and submital sheet. Thanks
I have been researching this for weeks. The one I signed up for is PropertyScoutslocal.com… They do not ask for any money and my investor actually called me back the FIRST time I had some questions. After that, I rarely get a response from him. I have been building relationships with brokers so if this is a scam then it will ruin my name as I’m trying to get started in the property scout business. I’m thinking that I might just pay the fee and join NACREPS. They are a lot more thorough from what I hear. Has anyone made ANY money as a commercial property scout?
These scout companies have numerous listings on craigslist under different names (LLC’s) and they;re links all lead to the same website where you sign up to be a property scout. They then send you a few emails with some ideas how to be a scout. Then you start getting emails that offer you training cds/ dvds/ tapes etc. for only $47.00!!! what a deal!!!! Notice how you are asked to fill out a subcontractor agreement or a 1099. Sorry guys , I don’t see anything legit about these companies.
Buddy
The Pinnacle Commercial Group from Florida is full of shit!!
Another Internet SCAM!!
These people are SCAMMERS!!
Don’t buy into their $1,500 program.
They can’t close on anything…I’ve been told by several Real Estate agents that they don’t come through with anything and many R. E. agents from Florida won’t even send you their Offering Memorandums if they know you’re working for The Pinnacle Group.
I’ve spent months working on deals and they haven’t come through on even ONE…even though they have put properties under contract,
Seriously…don’t have dreams about their promises , don’t base your finances on them…more importantly, don’t waste your time trying to make them rich!
They can’t even tell you “exactly” what you”re going to earn…after you bring them a smokin’ deal.
And then when they don’t perform, they don’t have the professionalism to return calls or call those depending on the closing…the scout, the jv partner, the realtor, the title company, the seller.
DON’T BE NAIVE!!!
Hate the FUCKERS!!
SCAMMERS!!!
Oh, they also go by Florida Property Scouts and MANY other different names. Anyone can get one of their CANNED websites and name it whatever they wish for $100 per month…only after they pay the $1,500 for their BULLSHIT members club.
They profess they have millions to “partner” with you…BULL!
DON’T DO IT!
